Oly: Marathon madman a campaigner for peace

The man who disrupted the Olympic marathon, defrocked Irish priest CORNELIUS HORAN,
has a history of using unconventional tactics to get his message across.

HORAN was arrested after he dashed on to the marathon course in Athens and tackled
leading runner Brazilian VANDERLEI DE LIMA.

DE LIMA recovered but was soon overtaken and has blamed losing the lead on the intruder.

A police source says HORAN was drunk.

But the former Catholic priest has done something similar before.

Last year he interrupted the British Formula One Grand Prix by running on to the Silverstone
track as cars approached at speeds in excess of 240kph.

A spokeswoman for the Greek police says HORAN told them he ran onto the track because
he is preparing for the second coming.
